I’m Keri Belcher, a UX Researcher, Experience Designer, and a Co-lead for Hexagon UX Houston.

I’m currently a UX Researcher & Designer at 3Leaf, researching user experiences and building information systems and their digital interfaces.

Previously, I've worked as a UX researcher at Daito Design, investigating user experience challenges in the oil and gas industry. I've also worked as a contract UX designer in the e-commerce and healthcare industries. I transitioned into user experience from the energy industry, where I worked as a geologist on a multi-disciplinary team that modeled reservoirs to mitigate business risk.

In my free time, I'm a Co-lead for the Hexagon UX Houston Mentorship Program, which pairs early-career women and non-binary folx in user experience with mentors, helping them create meaningful connections and build skills for success in the industry.

  • Prior to transitioning into UX, I was a geologist working in the energy industry. I earned my Masters of Science degree at the University of Texas studying sedimentology (basically sand and mud).

And prior to grad school, I worked as a Diamond grader at GIA where I also earned my graduate gemologist degree while working full time. The cool parts of that job involved holding a diamond worth $100 million dollars in my hand and digging for rubies in Thailand on an international field gemology expedition. Ask me about gems and I’ll talk your ear off.
